You can upgrade to Archiver 2 for a discount if you own a license to either Archiver 1 or iArchiver.
If you purchased Archiver after February 1st, 2013 you’re entitled to a free upgrade. Please contact us with your serial number and we’ll send you your new serial number.
Development of Archiver has officially ended and all of our efforts are going into Archiver 2.
We will, however, continue to provide support for Archiver 1.

.archiver archives use image and audio pre-compression, followed by Xar compression.
Yes, Archiver can uncompress password-protected encrypted archives, such as those RAR, 7zip and Zip format.
Both standard encryption (where the file contents are encrypted) and the strong header encryption (where the file names are concealed) are supported by Archiver.
To open encrypted archives, simply drag them onto Archiver, enter your password and click Extract. That’s it!

To open a split archive file, simply drag one or more of the split files onto Archiver and click Extract. Easy as pie!

Yes, Archiver is both a file splitter and file combiner!
To split a file, simply drag it onto Archiver and click Split. You can then choose the split size and whether to compress the split files.
You can also create split 7zip archives here.
Similarly, to combine a set of split files, drag one or more of the files onto Archiver and click Combine.

When creating Zip, 7zip, Tar Gzip or Tar Bzip2 archives, you can set the compression level of the archive. The higher the compression strength, the smaller the archive (but the longer it takes to create the archive).
The Clean menu item removes any stale temporary working directories created by Archiver.
Normally Archiver cleans up any working directories automatically when an operation (such as extracting an archive) completes. Running this command is only necessary if Archiver quits unexpectedly and so wasn't able to clean up the temporary directories automatically.
